Véritable poète de l’image, Louise Tanguay porte sur la nature un regard original et très personnel. Ses photos lui ont valu de nombreux prix, ont fait l’objet de multiples expositions et de publications dans des revues et journaux prestigieux à travers le monde.

Elle a signé des articles pour les magazines Photo Life et Photo Sélection, et ses conférences illustrées sont toujours très prisées du public. Louise Tanguay a publié une douzaine d’ouvrages, dont deux beaux livres, Natura et Flora, aux Éditions de l’Homme. Plus de 10 000 exemplaires de Natura ont été vendus. De 2000 à 2004, elle réalise une série de guides sur les jardins du Québec. Les jardins de Métis obtient dès sa parution la cote « best-seller » et sera suivi de Les belles de Métis, au printemps 2006. Jewels of Hawai'i, un livre sur les jardins hawaïens, paraît en 2010.

Depuis plusieurs années, Louise Tanguay offre des ateliers de formation et dirige des voyages organisés pour des groupes de photographes : Hawaï, Paris, la Toscane, le Maroc, la Namibie comptent parmi ses destinations récentes. De 2005 à 2012, elle a enseigné la photographie à l’École internationale d’été de Percé de l’Université Laval. Originaire de Hearst, dans le nord de l’Ontario, elle exerce son métier à Gatineau, dans l’Outaouais.

A true poet of images, Louise Tanguay has an original and very personal approach to nature. Her photography has won numerous prizes. She has had multiple exhibitions and has been published in prestigious magazines and newspapers throughout the world. She has authored articles for the magazines Photo Life and Photo Sélection, and her illustrated conferences are always much appreciated by the public. Louise Tanguay has published a dozen works, including two coffee-table books, Natura and Flora at Editions de l’Homme. Over 10,000 copies of Natura were sold.

Between 2002 and 2004, she produced a series of guide books on gardens in Quebec. One of them, the Reford Gardens, immediately became a best-seller and was followed by Treasures of the Reford Gardens in the spring of 2006. Jewels of Hawai’i, a book on Hawaiian gardens, was published in 2010.

For the past several years, Louise Tanguay has offered instructional workshops and has led groups of photographers on foreign trips. Hawaii, Paris, Tuscany, Morocco, and Namibia are among her recent destinations. Since 2005, she has been teaching photography at the International Summer School of Laval University in Percé. Originally from Hearst in northern Ontario, she now works out of Gatineau in the Outaouais region.
